We will discuss what is Java ? What it can or can not do ? What Java related technologies are popular and in demand these days ?
Week 2
Why will someone want to be a Java programmer ? What to expect and what to not expect ? What are the desirable background or additional qualifications for a good Java programmer ? What kind of Java technology is suited for beginning Java programmers ? Should people with HTML and/or Javascript background should try Java ? If so where do they start ?
Week 3
We will also discuss various development environments available, how to choose one and how to set one up. We will also write our first Java code and run it. We will also discuss some simple JSP( Java Server Pages ) code.
We will also learn where to find resources for moving further, for mastering the language and related technology.
Week 4
We will also learn where to go on the web for finding Java jobs.
Certification is always a plus for someone new to a particular area. We will also discuss what kind of certifications are available & how to prepare for them ?
