Full Description
Provides information focusing on the identification, instruction, and assessment of individuals with specific learning disabilities and learning differences. Includes a section on adults with learning disabilities and the challenges they may face.


Outcomes:
Students will be able to:

* Become familiar with the history of the field of learning disabilities.

* Understand the definitions and characteristics of learning disabilities.

* Learn facts, myths, causes, and diagnoses of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

* Get to know concerns faced by adults with learning disabilities.

This course is designed as one credit hour or 15 hours of professional development. Check with
the institution to be sure if credit is offered for this course.


Assessment:
The student will take an objective-based post exam consisting of 10 to 15 multiple choice and true or false questions. A score of 85% or higher is considered successful completion of the course.
