The Safety Director course is an online, self-paced course that will assist new and experienced safety directors improve their skills. Through readings, web-searches, online discussions, and other directed activities, the students will improve their understanding of safety in their industry including OSHA requirements. The Safety Director course is an online, self-paced course that will assist new and experienced safety directors improve their skills. Through readings, web-searches, online discussions, and other directed activities, the students will improve their understanding of safety in their industry including OSHA requirements.

Outcomes:

--The company will have a written, comprehensive, understandable training program? --The company will have in place a documented training program that covers applicable hazards? --The company will have identified "competent" persons with appropriate backgrounds? --The company will have developed site plans as appropriate? --The company will maintain its injury and illness log in a satisfactory manner?

Assessment:

In addition to the assignments for each unit, students will complete a major project such as develop and present safety training or develop written company policy for one or more topics.
