Introduction to Dreamweaver MX 2004 is the first of a 3-part course series.
Students will need to have access to Dreamweaver MX 2004, or Dreamweaver MX, the Internet and the course textbook "Macromedia Dreamweaver MX" 2004 Hands on Training(ISBN 0-321-20297-X) by Garo Green & Lynda Weinman. In this course, the student will be responsible for working through the "Hands On" exercises. These are designed to equip you with the knowledge you will need to successfully use this tool to create websites with great code and results at a fraction of the time that would take you using plain HTML.

As a result of this course, the student will achieve the following: * Create Web pages using applied and learned knowledge of Dreamweaver * Create hyperlinks that link to files, emails and named anchors * Create hyperlinks with images and text * Manipulate font stypes and page formats * Create definition and bulleted lists * Develop custom tables, insert, modify and delete rows and columns to tables * Understand the basic formatting rules specific to Dreamweaver
Assessment
Self-assessment by student successfully completing exercises and assignments as directed by the instructor review of various finished projects with written feedback

Welcome to Introduction to Dreamweaver MX, by now you have purchased the book and downloaded the software into your computer, During our first week we cover Chapters 1 to 3 of the book, These first three chapters are of the uppermost importance to the proper set up of your files and site, a weekly quiz is schedule at the end of the first week.
Chapters 4 and 5, Learning to insert images, text, the page properties panel, color pickers, creating links with images and text, what are META tags, creating a new document and defining your site. Chapter 5 will cover Linking with point to file, to New Source Files, Browse for File and the Link History, Creating Email Links, Named Anchors, Image Maps and Linking to files. Assignment for the week is to create a web page with everything that you have learned, weekly quiz due at the end of the week.
Chapters 6 and 7, Is all about Typography and Tables, Font faces, HTML Default text size, adding and formatting HTML text, font lists, aligning text, aligning text and Images, Ordered and unordered lists, color Schemes, formatting text in tables, applying HTML styles. Tables are a very important part of design, we will learning changing borders, sorting, changing color scheme, creating and modifying a table, aligning images and text with tables, percentage tables, seamless image assembly, import tabular data settings, nested tables and border, rounded corner tables. Weekly assignment is to create a web page applying everything that we have covered so far. Weekly quiz is due at the end of the week.
Chapter 8, working with images, tracing images, layers and tables, applying a tracing image, working with backgrounds, colors and images, adding layers, converting layers to tables, converting tables to layers, layout view. Weekly assignment to create a web page with everything that you have learned so far. Weekly quiz due at the end of the week.
Review of all chapters, work on final project, a 3-5 web page site with everything that you have learned in the class, this project is due at the end of the 6th week. Please use as much as you can of everything that you have learned in the class. Weekly assignment, study for the final and work on your final project.
