Intermediate--Students will need to have access to Dreamweaver MX or Dreamweaver and the Internet.
Dreamweaver MX - Students will need to have access to Dreamweaver MX or Dreamweaver, the Internet and the course textbook "Macromedia Dreamweaver MX (ISBN 0-321-11271) by Garo Green & Abigail Rudner (2003). In this course the student will be responsible for working through the "Hands On" exercises. These are designed to enhance your newly acquired knowledge of Dreamweaver MX, going a step beyond the basic tools of dreamweaver successfully using templates, cascading style sheets, frames and rollovers to create professional websites with great code and results at a fraction of the time that would take you using plain HTML.

As a result of this course, the student will achieve the following: * Create web pages using applied and learned knowledge of Dreamweaver * Create Cascading Style Sheets * Create master templates to speed up the development of a site * Create Libraries * Create web pages with frames (a Love-or-Hate Proposition) * Linking and Targets * Understanding the Dreamweaver Object Panel * Creating Navigation Bar Rollovers
Assessment
Self-assessment by student successfully completing exercises and assignments as directed by the instructor, review of various finished projects with written feedback.

Overview and introduction of the course Chapters 1 to 8 Review * Create a 4 page website with all the tools and information learned in the Introduction to Dreamweaver MX - Phase One Class * For new students, create a 4 page website with: * Image links to other pages within your site * Text links or basic navigation skills * Apply background images or colors to pages * Insert a table * Have a bulleted list, numbered, your preference * Have an anchor on your page to take you to the top of the page or another page in your site * Insert images on your pages * have an email link for instructor to send you comments on your site * Have an external link (to another site besides yours) * Evaluation
Read Chapters 9 and 10 * Redefining HTML Styles with Style Sheets * From CSS to HTML * Defining a Custom Class * Creating a Template * Creating a Library Item * Modifying a Template * Hands On exercises * Evaluation
Read Chapter 11 * Understanding Frames * Creating a web page using frames * Seamless background across two frames * Layout and design * Hands On exercises * Evaluation
Read Chapter 12 * Creating a Simple Rollover * Creating Multiple-Event Rollovers * Inserting a Navigation Bar Rollover * Animated Rollovers * Hands On exercises * Evaluation
Final Assignment Create a 4 to 5 page website with the following: * Apply all tools learned in Phase One and Phase Two (Introduction and Intermediate Dreamweaver MX), use Week One of Phase Two as a guide * Have a seamless frame page with an image going across the entire page * Create a template for 3 of the 4-5 pages * Have the following in one or all of your pages: * Simple rollover * Animated Rollover * Navigation bar rollover * Insert a simple rollover from Fireworks or other software * Have an email link for instructor to reply to you with grade and comments.
