Advanced Features of Dreamweaver MX - Phase 3, is the Third of a 3-part course series. Students will need to have access to Dreamweaver MX or Dreamweaver, the Internet and the course textbook "Macromedia Dreamweaver MX (ISBN 0-321-11271-7) by Garo Green & Abigail Rudner (2003). In this course, the student will be responsible for working through the "Hands On" exercises. These are designed to enhance your newly acquired knowledge of Dreamweaver MX going a step beyond the basic and intermediate tools of Dreamweaver, successfully putting it all together to create professional websites with great code and results, at a fraction of the time that would take you using plain HTML.

Outcomes:

As a result of this course, the student will achieve the following: * Create web pages using applied and learned knowledge of Dreamweaver * Automating your work to save you time * Working with Form Objects * Creating Jump Menus * Using Timelines for Animation * Learn Behaviors * Inserting ImageReady HTML * Create Web Photo Album Commands * Mailto: Commands * Linking to Sounds * Inserting Flash * Getting it Online

Assessment:

Self-assessment by student successfully completing exercises and assignments as directed by the instructor, review of various finished project with written feedback.

Week 1 Welcome back to all Dreamweaver Phase Two/Intermediate Class students, and new students.

Overview and introduction of the course:

Chapters 1 to 13 Review

* Create a 4 page website with all the tools and information learned in Phase One and Phase Two
* For new students, create a 4 page website with:
- Apply all tools learned in Phase One and Two
- Have a seamless frame page with an image going across the entire page
- Create a template for 3 of the 4-5 pages
- Have the following in one or all of your pages:
Simple rollover
Animated rollover
Navigation bar rollover
Insert a simple rollover from Fireworks or other software
* Have an email link for instructor to reply to you with grade and comments
* Evaluation Week 2 Read Chapters 14 and 15

* Form Objects
* Creating a Form Menu
* Creating a Jump Menu
* Using the History Palette for Undo/Redo
* Applying HTML Styles
* Creating Keyboard Shortcuts
* Hands On Exercises
* Evaluation Week 3 Read Chapters 16 and 17

* Dragging Layers
* Using a Timeline for animation
* Creating a Check Browser Behavior
* Creating a Set Text of Status Bar Behavior
* Opening a New Browser Window
* Hands On Exercises

Week 4 Read Chapter 18 and 19

* Creating Web Photo album Command
* Mailto: Command
* Linking to Sounds
* Inserting Flash, Director, QuickTime

Week 5 Final Assignment - Chapter 20 - Getting it Online

* Setting up FTP Procedures
* Understanding FTP
* File synchronization

Create a website 4 to 5 pages long with the following:

* Upload all files using FTP

Week 6 Chapters 1 to 20 review
