Full Description
Helps to develop an understanding of teaching as a profession, and to assist one in the evaluation his/her motivation and ability to become part of this profession. Also concentrates on a teacher's first classroom.


Outcomes:
This on-line foundations of education course is designed to provide current educators or prospective educators the opportunity to collaborate with a highly diversified group of people with similar goals, experiences, certifications, and future expectations. This course is designed to help prepare future teachers and enhance the skills and perspectives of current educators. This course will also explore the knowledge, behaviors, and specific skills of successful teachers as well as provide a comprehensive and realistic foundational background in the field of education and teaching as a profession.

This course is designed as one credit hour or 15 hours of professional development. Check with
the institution to be sure if credit is offered for this course.


Assessment:
The student will take an objective-based post exam consisting of 10 to 15 multiple choice and true or false questions. A score of 85% or higher is considered successful completion of the course.
