This course is designed to familiarize students with the intermediate features of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook 2000. It also includes a section on presentation skills. This course introduces students to the more powerful aspects of these applications and attempts to broaden and develop the basic skills that they already possess.
This course is designed to familiarize students with the intermediate features of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook 2000.
It also includes a section on presentation skills. In Microsoft Word, students will enhance the look of their text-based documents with the addition of symbols, tables, and graphics. Skills students will learn include applying borders and shading; using headers and footers; tabs and styles; using, modifying, and inserting graphs; and creating tables.
This course also introduces students to such Microsoft Excel 2000 features as working with lists, databases, and functions; formatting and linking worksheets; and using 3-D references and Microsoft Map. Through Microsoft Access, students will learn how to effectively create and use the primary database objects in Access, including tables, queries, forms, reports, and data access pages. Some other skills students will learn include working with HTML and hyperlinks, using the Query Wizard, and customizing reports.
Students will also be introduced to advanced components of Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, such as using masters, templates, and animation features, preparing presentations by working with speaker notes and developing audience handouts, and designing presentations for the Web. In Microsoft Outlook 2000, students will learn to use and customize mail features; use advanced Calendar features; organize items using categories; explore contacts and the journal; and integrate Outlook and Office to manage Office documents. The last part of this course is the section on Presentation Skills. This section takes the student through the process of creating and delivering a successful presentation. The topic, audience analysis, and researching are covered with emphasis on the audience.

Assessment
Student performance is assessed by cumulative training time, number of lessons completed and, where tests are available, the percent correct. Many courses also have a pre- and post-test where the pre-test will automatically assign only the lessons needed to achieve course mastery.
