PIN code provided for this course allows unlimited on-line access for 90 days. In this course, students will learn how to use the advanced features of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint 97. Students will learn how to customize Word to suit their needs and make their tasks easier. Some skills that will be covered include customizing toolbars and other options; automating certain processes; utilizing special formatting techniques; and managing team projects. Through advanced Excel 97, students will adjust default settings; create views and custom toolbars; protect worksheets; and apply passwords. Some other skills taught include understanding add-ins and MS Query, and importing and analyzing data from other applications. In Access students will learn to use parameter and crosstab queries and employ complex calculation expressions and selection criteria. Students will also be taught how to use wizards to create complex controls and switchboard forms. Topics of particular interest include editing relationships, defining buttons, and creating macros and macro groups. Through advanced PowerPoint 97, students will learn to enhance text with text anchors; search for and replace fonts; work with font embedding; texture, transparent, semi-transparent, and shadow font features; understand multimedia elements such as sounds and video; and exchange data to other applications with Report It, Export, and Import.

Assessment:
Student performance is assessed by cumulative training time, number of lessons completed and, where tests are available, the percent correct. Many courses also have a pre- and post-test where the pre-test will automatically assign only the lessons needed to achieve course mastery.
