| PIN code provided for this course allows unlimited on-line access for 90 days. This course is designed to familiarize users with key introductory features of Microsoft Word 97, Excel 97, Access 97, PowerPoint 97, and Outlook 98. Using Word 97, students will learn how to create, edit, and modify their text-based documents. This course will teach students how to save and print documents; work with menus and dialog boxes; start documents with templates; use the Find and Replace commands; and use the spelling checker. Students will be introduced to basic spreadsheet features and acquainted with Excel's tools. Some topics that will be covered include creating, editing, saving, and printing spreadsheets; working with Excel menus and dialog boxes; adjusting column widths and moving cells; formatting numbers, text, and cells; automatically filling a series of numbers; and understanding formulas and functions. Database fundamentals of Microsoft Access 97 will be taught, such as creating and editing tables, formatting columns and rows, and planning table design. In addition, students will learn how to use forms to add, find, and edit records; create and use AutoForms; and save time by using wizards and shortcuts. In Microsoft PowerPoint 97, students will learn how to design presentations and work with visual elements, as well as such advanced features as masters, templates, and animation. Students will also learn how to finalize and view their presentations and design presentations for the Web. The last part of this course introduces students to the basic features of Microsoft Outlook 98, including the Inbox, a contact database, a sophisticated Calendar and TaskPad for scheduling and group management, and electronic sticky notes. |
