This course uses Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook 2000 in order to teach the students presentation, business writing, and time management skills. The Presentation Skills course takes the student through the process of creating and delivering a successful presentation. The topic, audience analysis, and researching are covered first with an emphasis on the audience. The next task discussed is writing, and then designing, slides. Visual effects are added, and finally, preparation and delivery of the speech are discussed. Business Writing Using Word provides students with a review of the skills needed to write successful and effective letters, memos, minutes, proposals, reports, and press releases.
It also reviews basic spelling, punctuation, and grammar rules. Business writing covers sentence and word choice so the students will be able to determine the most effective and appropriate words to use, as well as sentence length. The last section teaches Time Management Skills Using Outlook 2000. It`s designed to show students how to use Outlook`s tools, such as the journal, tasks, notes, reminders, the calendar, and the Rules Wizard to plan their time. However, tips on how to use other time management tools, such as paper-based products, Palm Pilot, and other applications are included.
