The Course As a registered student, an instructor is assigned to you to act as your own personal trainer. In addition to teaching the conversation classes, your instructor makes sure you're on track and making the progress you expect. Classes are limited to eight participants at a time - that means that you get the attention you need to meet your goal of communicating in Spanish. There are many options available:
Scheduled group classes We all know that learning is more effective when it takes place in a group. Interacting in a group helps to motivate and brings out the personal best in each student. That’s the reason why we assign a group to all of our students according to their level. New groups will start every month, as long as the minimum number of students required for a class has been met. If we must wait to reach the minimum number, you will have access to all the online resources and the bulletin board classes (see below) until the formal class begins.
For each level, there will be a morning class some time between 9:00 AM and noon Eastern Time, an afternoon class between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM Eastern Time and an evening class some time between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM Eastern Time. Classes will take place either on Mondays and Wednesdays or on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Bulletin board classes For those of you not interested in attending a scheduled class you will be given a link to a bulletin board where you can check on a weekly basis when a class is being offered. You sign up for the class you want and when there is a minimum number of students, the class will take place. The material taught will vary from class to class to cover topics of interest at different levels.
Working without virtual classes If you are not interested in participating in our Virtual Classroom and just want to take the course using the online resources, we’ll send you the course syllabus so that you can take full advantage of the online resources.
The results of the placement test will indicate the best level for you to start working on the interactive online lessons. These self-paced lessons are divided into three levels initial, intermediate and advanced. Each evel is made up of four modules containing six lessons each.
