1. The student demonstrates his or her understanding of what type of businesses are the best to start by developing a list of them. 2. Investigate and research to find what products would be the best to sell. 3. Develop a winning site that sells. 4. Select an e-commerce company for the business. 5. Secure a web hosting company to activate their web site. 6. Produce a list of newsgroups to promote your site to. 7. Produce a list of free classified advertising sites and place an ad to them. 8. Write effective copy that will sell their product or service. Purchase of a book will be required. Introduction to the establishment of a business on the Internet. In this first week, we will discuss the follow ing topics: 1) What is the best business to start 2) What are the hottest products to sell on the Internet 3) Two key ways to make money online 4) Build an effective Web site 5) Write copy that sells 6) Understanding the processing of payments from a Web site During this initial period, students are encouraged to briefly explain in writing their product or service and list their specific goals and expectations for this course. Class rules and homework assignment schedules will also be established, as well.
Financing and Using Email This week we will cover these topics: 1) Review a number of resources where venture capital can be obtained 2) Creating after sell products 3) Using Email 4) Using Autoresponders For this week, students will be introduced to various resources to apply for venture capital. Students will learn the importance of creating secondary products to sell as a follow up to the original sell. Students will be shown how to harness the power of email and how to use autoresponders. An assignment and quiz will be given.
Generating Traffic This week we will cover these topics: 1) Learn about search engines 2) How to use links 3) Learn how to start your own newsletter 4) Learn about viral marketing During this week, students will learn about search engines, links, how to create a newsletter, and learn about viral marketing. By the end of this week, students will create a newsletter they will advertise on their Web site. An assignment and quiz will be given.
Promoting you online business. This week we will cover: 1) Using banner advertising 2) Market to newsgroups 3) Using classified ads effectively The students will be introduced to banner advertising and will make one. The students will learn to market to newsgroups, and use classified ads properly. An assignment and quiz will be given.
Growing your online business This week these topics will be covered: 1) Creating joint ventures 2) Market using online services 3) Writing effective press releases During this week, the students will learn about creating and using alliances with joint ventures, further marketing, and writing effective press releases. An assignment an guiz will also be given.
Testing and intelligence This week students will learn about testing their ads and copy. They will learn how to properly track results. Students will learn how to stay ahead of their competition and keep growing their business. A final test will be given.
