Introduction to Fireworks MX
| Introduction to Fireworks MX is the first class of a 3-part course; students are required to have access to the Internet, basic Internet and computer (file structure) knowledge, Fireworks MX or Fireworks 4 software installed in their computer and the course book “ Visual Quickstart Guide Macromedia Fireworks MX for Windows and Macintosh by Sandee Cohen” ISBN 0-201-79479-9. The student is responsible for following the book and doing all the work, weekly quizzes online and weekly assignments, along with a final assignment due the last week of the course.

Students finishing the Introduction to Fireworks MX will learn the following: * Learn the Fireworks Environment and Basic tools, working with the various panels available * Proper way of resizing images and compressing documents for the web so the web pages load quickly, proper file structure and file name for the web * Differences between vectors and pixels, creating basic shapes * Reshaping objects and images * Selecting Paths, doing fancy things with text and images * Selecting objects behind objects * Working with group objects * Working with layers, * Altering paths * Creating basic bills, web ditters * Working with textures * Modifying fill |

Weekly quizes and assignments are given to each one of the students and submitted via email or to their server by midnight of every Sunday. Instructor returns each assignment graded with notes and comments. Instructor works with each student invidivually to help them achieve their goals for this class.

Send email to instructor introducing themselves. Cover chapters 1 through 3, install all necessary software, get Yahoo IM messager downloaded and notify instructor of ID or username. Download notes from Instructor''''s server and complete assignment. Weekly online quiz schedule is determined once student has registered for the class
Cover Chapters 4 to 7, check instructor''''s website for weekly notes and assignments, complete all work book, weekly quiz, turn in assignment
Review all 7 chapters, weekly quiz, weekly assignment and start on final assignment
Final assignment consists of creating a webpage as an image, slicing image and compressing image.
