The Firewall class was developed to meet current demands of DOD (Department of Defense) and the growing needs of the computer industry. It provides the student with the level of knowledge needed as part of the DOD and industry requirements for employment as an entry-level security technician. Students gain a solid background on how to secure networks from unauthorized activity. Students learn about establishing an effective security policy, a detailed overview of a few specific firewall solutions: their capabilities, example rule sets, understanding of filters, firewall design, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and VPNs.
