By the end of the workshop, supervisors and team leaders will be able to :
Identify the skills and behaviors necessary to be effective as a supervisor
Set performance objectives and expectations that support business goals
Develop observation skills to diagnose a situation and identify what type of performance problem the employee is facing
State steps necessary to improve a situation and solve a problem
Describe key components of effective communication and identify the potential barriers to good communication and how to avoid them.
Demonstrate the ability to lead a performance discussion
Describe the steps to conducting an effective staff meeting
Demonstrate the ability to determine when to delegate, who to delegate to, how to conduct a delegation discussion and how to avoid common delegation traps
Demonstrate how to handle a challenging employee situation
Define and demonstrate how to create a motivational climate to improve performance of the team.
