Course Description
The printed circuit board is loaded with expensive components...and it does not work! There is nostarting over, and the choices seem ominous: scrap it or send it out. Either way, it's going to cost you.
Do you have a third option?
IPC's Rework, Repair and Modification Training and Certification Program
offers your company the money-saving alternative: fix it yourself!
This train-the-trainer program teaches industry-approved techniques on through hole and surface mount rework, land, conductor and laminate repair. It also provides a flexible, highly skills-oriented training program with teaching materials that enable a qualified representative from your company to train operators on a variety of procedures from the IPC-7711 Rework of Electronic Assemblies and the IPC-7721 Repair and Modification of Printed Boards and Electronic Assemblies.
BRINGING REWORK AND REPAIR TRAINING TO YOUR COMPANY
Companies participating in IPC's Rework, Repair and Modification Program send candidates to Approved IPC-7711/7721 Training Centers for forty hours of intensive, hands-on instruction. Candidates who pass the classroom exam and skills demonstrations are recognized by IPC as "Registered Instructors," and leave with a lesson plan, visuals and materials for training operators on up to nine different assembly rework and repair modules. Instructor candidates who do not wish to take the training course may achieve certification through "challenge" testing. All IPC-7711/7721 Registered Instructors are certified for two years.
Registered Instructor training covers common rework and repair techniques. In Operator Proficiency training, only the introductory module, Common Procedures, is a required element. Other operator-level modules are taught based on a company's needs. Operators are certified for two years for each module taken.
