Workers handling hazardous waste can experience high levels of stress. Daily tasks may expose them to toxic chemicals, safety hazards, biological hazards or radiation. They may face heat stress or life-threatening emergencies such as explosions and fires. Therefore, a medical program is essential to monitor and assess the health and well being of all workers, provide medical treatment as needed, and keep accurate records for future reference. Delivery formats include CD-ROM, LAN, WAN, Intranet, Internet. The course can be customized to meet your site-specific needs. It is currently available in English, but other language tracks can be added.

HAZWOPER: Medical Surveillance
This course introduces the learner to Medical Surveillance. The program presents general guidelines for designating a medical program for personnel at hazardous waste sites, including information and sample protocols for pre-employment screening, medical examinations, guidelines for emergency and non-emergency treatment, and recommendations for record-keeping and review.
