1 UNDERSTANDING AND RELEASING STRESS THE NATURAL WAY

1a What is executive stress?
The crippling effects of stress. Why stress happens. Why the human physiology is not created for modern air-conditioned living. The fight or flight syndrome. Why stress is counter-productive. Why and how it creates health problems.

1b The mind-brain-spirit-body connection
Understanding the brain and the mind as a pre-requisite to managing and controlling negative stress.

1c Mind, Incorporated
What and where is the mind? Why is it so powerful? Why most people don't realize they have been given (free of charge ) a powerful mind. How the mind controls the body.

1d Brain, Incorporated
What's left brain, and what's right brain. Why we need both left-brain AND right brain to be ACTIVE for better performance. Why we use ONLY the left-brain most of the time.

The universally accepted methods of measuring brainwaves. Names given to the various levels of the brain cycles -- Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta.

1f The 5,000-year-old natural oriental stress release exercise
Distilling the best practices of meditation, neurophysiology, and mind development gurus such as Deepak Chopra, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Jose Silva, Dr Herbert Benson, Dr Patricia Carrington, Shakti Gawain, Osho Rajnesh, Dr Jeffrey Mishlove, Dr Robert Stone, et al., and meditation processes such as TM, Silva Method, Buddhist meditation, Hindu meditation, qiquong, etc. Why widely practised stress release meditation exercises have some common threads running through them, what these common threads are, and how you can use them to control, transform and release stress. Introducing a simple, powerful, scientifically proven stress release exercise that is distillation of the teachings of all the gurus above.

1g HOW TO MAKE STRESS MANAGEMENT A REALITY
The solid-rock basis of natural stress management is Belief. Why we must have total belief that we have been given this power to reduce stress and manage ourselves effectively -- that it is our birth right; that we can use it, and have been using it even before we knew it existed. The power of the formula Belief Expectancy Desire

2 STRESS MANAGEMENT *IS* PERSONAL WELLNESS

2a Mind-body communication for personal wellness
Why a stress reduction program leads also to general good health. The stress-reduction possibilities of Wakeful Sleep. Consciously utilizing the powers of the subconscious to self-heal. Discussing all the universally accepted methods and strategies of stress reduction, personal development and self-healing -- the universal consciousness as an extension of the human mind; the universal healing light; the inborn powers of the healing hand; the powers of Guided Imagery.

2b The power of triggering devices in stress management
The mind can hold only one thought at a time. How to use triggering devices to think and feel can-do all the time. Using the Emile Coue principle, the Erase-Delete principle, the technique of Affirmative Self-talk

DAY TWO

3 STRESS MANAGEMENT THROUGH EFFECTIVE EMOTIONS MANAGEMENT

3a All about Emotional Intelligence (EI)
Companies, societies and organizations have one major ingredient -- human beings. Without human beings, companies, societies and organizations cannot function and grow. On the other hand, human beings are the cause of executive stress. Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the quality that enables a person to become an effective leader within a company, a society or an organization.

3b What is EI?
Participants discover that EI is a synergistic combination of two intelligences -- intrapersonal intelligence and interpersonal intelligences. A discussion of the works of Daniel Coleman and Stephen Covey, the two more famous exponents of EI.

3c The intrapersonal intelligence aspect of EI
Intrapersonal intelligence is the ability to be aware of, to recognize, and then to control, your inner emotions. A discussion of emotions all human beings experience

3d Help, I don t like myself
Stress management starts with mental housecleaning. Causes and symptoms a low self-image. Why society in general is fertile breeding ground for low self-image. Why nobody escapes self-talking. How self-talk can lead to failure or success of a personal stress reduction program.

4 MANAGING STRESS BY GIVING YOURSELF PERSONAL POWER

4a Enhancing your personal power
How to stop "kicking the cat" when something happens. Self talk -- a double edged sword. Manage stress by being proactive, not reactive. How to work on things we can control and work around those we cannot control. You are what you are because of what happened to you at childhood. What is "fear" and how to manage it

4b Ending the "TV Series" syndrome
How to eliminate anger and upsets. Managing stress by ending your long term problems with someone. Being aware that others have the right to be right too. The Paradoxical Commandments -- the way to ending the "TV Series"

4c Managing stress by "Living True To Yourself"
Doing what you say you will do. Be true in your communication with others. Stop pretending. Be proactive when something happens. Unload psychological baggage. Be here, be now, and be present for others

5 THE INTERPERSONAL ASPECTS OF EI
A discussion of the various principles, ideas, and strategies to use to attain high EI, and in the process release and reduce stress......
1 Get rid of your tainted glass (your prejudices)
2 Realize that people are important
3 Contain your anger, because he who angers you, conquers you
4 Realize that people have the right to make mistakes.
5 Don t CCC -- condemn, criticize, comment negatively.
6 Realize that it s easy to misunderstand, difficult to understand. So seek first to understand
7 Do unto others, as they would want you to do unto them
8 Realize that you can communicate without opening your mouth

6 STRESS MANAGEMENT THROUGH UNDERSTANDING YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

6a A square peg in a round hole syndrome
Why being in the wrong job creates stress. How to find out what job is best for you.

6b Handling personal strengths and weaknesses
Job specifications include functions which may not be your strengths. Why spending time fixing your weaknesses (and not enhancing on your strengths) leads to stress. Discovering your strengths and weaknesses, and how to go around weaknesses so that you concentrate on what you do best.

6c They re driving me crazy
Why people think, act, process information, and make decisions differently. How not to get stressful by understanding other people s natural preferences. Understanding yourself through the Herrmann Brain Dominance principle

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This stress management program is for the President/CEO, directors, senior managers, mid-level managers and executives, and supervisors -- people who bear the full brunt of the current business environment which ceaselessly drown them in an unending onslaught of stress creating situations and conditions.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SOMETHING TO TAKE BACK
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once the skills are transferred, participants bring them back to your company to practise on-the-job. G. K. Lim issues each participant with a workshop-manual-cum-resource-book, which includes key ideas from the training session, and which they can refer to in the months and years to come.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOW PARTICIPANTS LEARN
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G. K. Lim uses a combination of expert input, practice, and small group sessions, offering the best opportunities for skills transfer into the work/marketplace. Learning tools include case studies, role modeling, practical exercises, humor, kinesthetic exercises, superlearning inducement / stress release exercises, music, and video clips. For maximum learning impact and retention, he uses certain techniques from the following adult learning processes, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Accelerated Learning, Competency-based training and development, and Herrmann Brain Dominance Principle.
