- asked: course information and fees
- B asked: I am requesting information on user licensing for the CD-ROM form of training of the course "GUI Design Essentials", course code FC. I spoke with a representative recently, who is taking some time responding to our conversation. I would like to purchase the CD-ROM for use as a resource in our training library. This means approx. reusable user licenses. Thanks,

Description In this course, students will design and implement a graphical user interface (GUI) for a group of astronomers. These astronomers are dissatisfied with the workings of their computer and want a new way to interact with their system. To meet this goal, they will learn how to apply Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles to develop this interface. Following this, students will consider how to use a variety of interaction techniques in GUI design. Strategies for successfully implementing and testing the GUI will then be examined. Finally, various windowing systems and advanced interaction techniques in GUI design will be considered. Audience This course is intended for engineers, computer scientists, and those involved with systems design. Prerequisites A computer programming background is recommended for this course. Systems design experience is highly desirable. Topics Include
User Characteristics/Principles of Dialog Design
Interaction Techniques
System Components/Iterative Design Strategies
Windowing Systems/Advanced Interaction
Duration 4 hrs Minimum Requirements IBM 386DX25 or Compatible; VGA Color Monitor; 4MB RAM; 20MB Hard Disk Space; DOS 5.0; Windows 3.1; MS Mouse or 100% Compatible Media
