Description In this course, students will be presented with a task-based, real-world scenario covering the, administration optimization, troubleshooting of Microsoft SQL Server 6.5. Administration of SQL Server includes managing storage, the setting up user accounts, and assigning permissions. The optimization, configuration, and diagnostics of SQL Server will also be covered. Audience This course is designed for system administrators responsible for implementation and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Servers in an enterprise network. Prerequisites The student should have a Microsoft Windows NT Server 3.51 course or equivalent , two years experience performing system administration or support in a networked environment and completed the FirstClass Systems course 'MS SQL Server 6.5 – Installation and Administration. Objective Manage database storage through the manipulation of a SQL Database Manage user accounts through the creation and administration of group and individual user accounts Manage the security of SQL databases by granting and/or revoking permissions Manage data by performing backup and recovery procedures Identify and implement SQL Server replication Monitor SQL Server performance using Windows NT Performance Monitor Use the SQL Enterprise Manage to monitor server activity Monitor and configure server memory for optimum performance Troubleshoot system errors related to database configuration and SQL Server optimization Topics Include
