Description
This course provides the students with an introduction and uses of XML entities. It also provides the students with the knowledge and skills required for creating XML applications. Additionally, the students will be able to identify the use of Xlinks, Xpointers, cascading style sheets, and DSSSL style sheets.

Prerequisites
Familiarity with Internet/Intranet/Extranet terms and conditions. An understanding of Web Server Technologies, with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or a later version, and text editors such as Notepad.
Objective
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- identify the various types of XML entities
- list the uses of XML entities
- identify various implementations of XML applications
- list commonly used XML applications
- describe the concept of linking in XML
- define XLink
- describe the concept of XPointers in XML
- add and create an XPointer with different location terms
- list the features of style sheets
- describe the process used to create Cascading Style Sheets
- identify the features of DSSSL style sheets
- describe the process of creating a DSSSL style sheet
- describe the concept of XSL style sheets
- create a construction rule
