Description
This course is the third course in the XML curriculum. It provides the students with an introduction to the role of document design in XML document creation and the design elements in XML. The students will be able to describe XML processors and editors and determine the steps involved in converting an HTML document to an XML document. The students will be also able to identify the parser used to develop XML applications and identify the role of Perl in XML application development. Further, the course also describes the requirements for e-mailing XML documents and document types used with bulletin boards.
Audience
This course is designed for application developers and system engineers who plan, design and implement Web-based business solutions on Intranets, Extranets, and Internets. This will also be useful for solution developers in integrating businesses based on a variety of vendor-specific protocols.
Prerequisites
Familiarity with Internet/Intranet/Extranet terms and conditions. An understanding of Web Server Technologies, with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or a later version, and text editors such as Notepad.
