The Configuring Communication Services WBT describes the concepts of configuring the Linux network and communication services. It provides an overview of the TCP/IP network that forms the basic platform for Linux networking, and discusses network programming in terms of building a connection to the Linux server and configuring and troubleshooting the various network services under Linux. The course also explains the use of the Internet mail and various Internet/Intranet and protocol services provided by Linux. The course covers the concept of various communication programs and discusses the methods of configuring a modem and other tasks, such as connecting to computers using the communication programs, and using the Linux fax utilities. Users who have a basic level of familiarity with the features and usage of the Linux system and want extensive knowledge of the network services under Linux and who want to be familiar with the various configuration and troubleshooting issues of networking, and the features and usages of various Linux communication programs and utilities.
