- D asked: notes on active and passive preventive maintenace and what they target
- S asked: I am employee of a Transport Organisation - HIGHWAY CARRIERS LTD, whereby I had been promoted as an IT Administrator in February . Before that, I have been working as a Secretary for a General Manager and IT Dept. We have a service contract with one of Computer Consultants who take care of our computers - servicing, checking hardware problems, replacing parts where necessary etc. I work on WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT, ACCESS PROGRAM, MS DOS, PLATINUM, troubleshooting where I can assist. But my aim is now to focus on PC Support where I can also open a CPU and manage to check the components installed, replace CMOS battery if required, HDD, Power Supply, CD-ROM etc. Truly speaking, have never been to a Computer College. Have only experience. I train a lot of users on different packages and assist where a user has a problem in printing, CPU not turning on, keyboard or mouse getting stuck/freezing, machine hanging. Am eager to learn more and am confident that I will fulfill my computer skills if given a chance.
