Audience
This course is intended for end users who are interested in using Lotus Notes 4.5. Participants should have taken Microsoft Windows 95 - Fundamentals (Course 70011).
Objective
Upon completion of this course the student will understand:
- Identify the basic components and operations of Lotus Notes 4.5.
- Add and close a database.
- Work with documents in a database.
- Work with messaging tools.
- Work with agents and the Web Navigator database.

Unit 1: Lotus Notes R4.5: Getting Started 1 - 2 hours
- Identify the features of Lotus Notes.
- Configure Lotus Notes by using the Notes Workstation Setup dialog box.
- Label the components of the Lotus Notes workspace with their purpose.
- Customize a workspace page by using the pop-up menu.
- Match the database components with their descriptions.
- Create a mail message.
- Set the delivery options of a mail message.
- Reply to a mail message.
- Sort mail messages by name.
- Delete a mail message.
- Change the letterhead in a mail message.
- Attach a file to a message.
- Detach a message from a mail message.
Unit 2: Database and Documents 1 - 2 hours
- Add a database icon to the workspace page.
- Delete a database icon.
- Create a document in a database.
- Change the location of the Preview pane to display a document.
- Respond to a document by using the action bar.
- Edit a document.
- Format the text in a document.
- Format the paragraphs of a document.
- Create a list in a document.
- Create and customize a table in a document.
- Create a folder.
- Move documents from a view into folders.
- Search for a word in a document.
- Display documents that contain a specific word.
- Search a Full Text indexed database for documents by using the By Author option.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
