Description

XEBEC: Health and Safety issues are becoming more and more crucial in today's workplace. Each year, on average, 500 people die at work and over 400,000 injuries or accidents are reported. The vast majority of these accidents are in some way attributable to 'human factors' - in other words, they could and should have been prevented. Under current legislation, the responsibility for providing a safe working environment and preventing such accidents rests fully with the organisation itself. You can face heavy fines for simply being unaware of the rules, regulations and procedures let alone for not applying them. This combined with the need to understand your obligations and the potential penalties under EU regulations, plus the expense of lost time and money resulting from absenteeism, all add up to the absolute need for you to provide a safe and healthy working environment. Xebec's new Safety Sense series provides your organisation with the information and training you need to make this happen.

Topics Include

Employees responsibilities:

What employees must do.

Identifying risks, the working environment, working position and recognising hazards

Handling and transport, working with machines, protective equipment, identifying hazards

Types of injury, mechanical aids, carrying, lifting

Potential hazards, basic procedures, extinguishers, and evacuation.

Location of first aid equipment, basic procedures, basic first aid, identity and location of first aiders and safety

representative.


• Avoiding risks, dealing with aggression, dealing with an attack.

Minimum Requirements

Students are able to print out the results of a test at the end of the course, showing that they have successfully completed it and have tested their understanding. The administration software also allows training managers to keep centralised records on who has completed their training.

The Safety Sense Series contains 4 courses: 13131, 13132, 13133 and 13134

Hardware requirements:

• 486 25Mhz CPU.


• MS Dos 5.0 or later.


• MSCDEX (Microsoft CD-Rom extensions) 2.10 or later.


• Windows Version: 4MB Ram.


• 4MB free hard disk space.


• Super VGA card with 512k RAM.


• MS Mouse or compatible.


• Soundblaster compatible audio card and MPC compliant CD-Rom drive.


• 16 bit Codec or the 32 bit Codec (installed during a normal course install). No MPEG course requires either Codec.
