Audience
This course series is for webmasters application developers and graphic designers with little or no exposure to Lotus Notes/Domino. Participants should have completed the first two courses in this series.
Objective
- Create UIs by using folders and navigators in Lotus Domino R5.
- Identify the features of the Lotus Domino R5 design element pages framesets and outlines.

Unit 1: Lotus Domino R5: UI Design Overview
- Identify the elements of the user interface of a Lotus Domino R5 application.
- Match the Lotus Domino R5 design elements with their features that are relevant to Web application development.
- Identify the features of a folder.
- Match the types of folders with their features.
- Create a folder.
- Set the properties of a folder.
- Enable soft deletion in a database.
- Create a view to store deleted documents.
- Identify the features of navigator.
- Set the properties of a navigator.
- Set database launch properties to display a navigator.
- Add graphics to a navigator.
- Add objects to a navigator.
- Add an action to an object in a navigator by using the Simple action(s) option.
- Add an action to an object in a navigator by using a formula.
Unit 2: New Lotus Domino R5 Design Elements
- Identify the differences between pages and forms.
- Identify the methods that can be used to display a page.
- Create a page by using the Design pane.
- Create a link on a page.
- Create a static window title by using the Programmer's pane.
- Hide a design element displayed in a page.
- Identify the features of framesets.
- Create a frameset by using the Design pane.
- Specify the content of a frame in a frameset.
- Modify the arrangement of frames within a frameset by using the buttons on the Work pane.
- Identify the features of an outline.
- Create an outline by using the Design pane.
- Arrange outline entries by using Indent Entry and Outdent Entry buttons in the Work pane.
- Match the outline properties with their descriptions.
- Embed an outline in a page.
- Embed a view in a page.
- Embed a view in a page that displays a single category of documents.
- Embed a folder pane in a form.
- Embed a navigator in a page.
- Embed a date picker in a page.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
