This is the fifth course in a nine part series for webmasters application developers and graphic designers that will introduce Notes/Domino features web-specific tasks and basic system administration tasks to be up on the web quickly and to use Domino to create Web sites and Web applications. At the completion of this course students will learn how to identify the functions of Groupware and the elements of a workflow application; retrieve information from a Domino database; create calendaring and scheduling in a database and implement headlines in a database; and implement Domino security and maintain the application.

Audience
This course series is for webmasters application developers and graphic designers with little or no exposure to Lotus Notes/Domino. Participants should have completed the first four courses in this series.
Objective
- Identify the functions of Groupware and the elements of a workflow application.
- Retrieve information from a Domino database.
- Create calendaring and scheduling in a database and implement headlines in a database.

Unit 1: Workflow
- Identify the functions of groupware.
- Match the elements of a workflow application with the workflow for a specific business process.
- Sequence the steps for mail routing in a single domain.
- Create a mail-in database by using the Create menu.
- Match the parameters of the MailSend function with their values in a specific situation.
- Enable a form for mail routing by using the form properties method.
- Enable a form for mail routing by using the MailOptions method.
Unit 2: Retrieving Information
- Refresh a view index.
- Create a view selection formula for a specific situation.
- Create a view form formula for a specific situation.
- Retrieve information from a Domino database.
- Assign values to the Notes.ini file.
- Retrieve values from the Notes.ini file.
- Create a profile document.
- Modify a profile document.
Unit 3: Calendaring Scheduling and Headlines
- Create a calendar view.
- Embed a group scheduler object into a form.
- Enable headline monitoring in a database.
- Customize the Subscription form by using the Create menu.
Unit 4: Deploying an Application
- Add a database role.
- Assign a database role to a user.
- Implement the database role by using a controlled access section.
- Create a Readers field.
- Create an Authors field.
- Enable field-level security.
- Create an encryption key.
- Enable field encryption.
- Set up mail encryption.
- Identify the considerations that are to be kept in mind while testing an application.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
