This course series is for system administrators who are responsible for Domino server and Notes client. Participants should have completed NETg course 13403 Lotus Domino R5 Development Part 1: Basic Concepts or have equivalent knowledge.

  • Identify the requirements for setting up a server for passthru access.
  • Identify the requirements for setting up a server for Internet access.
  • Identify the type of remote access connection that should be selected for the given Domino network.
  • Match the databases in Domino with their purposes.
  • Identify the functions of the views in Domino Directory.
  • Identify the views in the Server category of Domino Directory based on their functions.
  • Identify the view in Certification Log that displays data in a specified format.
  • Identify the views in Server Log that perform a specific function.
  • Identify the views in Domain Catalog based on their functions.
  • Identify the views in Directory Catalog based on their functions.

Minimum Requirements

The CDROM version of this course requires:

  • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
  • At least 8MB RAM.
  • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
  • At least a double speed CDROM drive.
  • An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
  • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
  • At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
  • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
