Audience
This course series is for system administrators who are responsible for Domino server and Notes client. Participants should have completed NETg course 13403 Lotus Domino R5 Development Part 1: Basic Concepts or have equivalent knowledge.
Objective

- Identify the user considerations that affect a rollout plan.

Unit 2: Planning a Domino Connection
- Match the operating systems with protocols they support in Domino.
- Identify the protocol that is best suited for a given Domino network.
- Identify the requirements for setting up a server for a direct dial-up connection.
- Identify the requirements for setting up a server for a network dial-up connection.
- Identify the requirements for setting up a server for passthru access.
- Identify the requirements for setting up a server for Internet access.
- Identify the type of remote access connection that should be selected for the given Domino network.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
