Unit 1: Production Planning in R/3

• Introduction to the philosophy of MRP II: - The MRP II concept . - MRP II versus KANBAN. - Conflicting objectives of PP.

• Integrating data in the R/3 System: - Integrating SOP data in R/3.

Unit 2: Planning levels in the R/3 System

• Sales & Operations Planning level: - Standard Sales & Operations Planning. - Flexible Sales & Operations Planning. - Transferring planning data to MP.
• Planning at the demand management level: - Effects of Sales & Operations Planning data on MP. - Example of demand management.
• Planning at the material requirements planning level: - The planning run. - Displaying planning results.

Unit 3: Functions and details of SOP

• Functional overview of SOP: - Functions of standard SOP. - Creating product groups. - Product groups in standard SOP. - Hierarchies in flexible planning. - Planning in flexible planning.
• Functions of standard SOP: - Changing the period split. - Creating long text for a planning version. - Distributing values in the planning table. - Interactive graphic. - Planning simulation.

Minimum Requirements

The CDROM version of this course requires:

• At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
• Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
• At least 8MB RAM.
• At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
• At least a double speed CDROM drive.
• An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).

• At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
• Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
• At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
• At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
