Description
The ability to communicate clearly is an essential business skill. People produce their best work when they communicate openly, honestly and with respect. But when stressful situations arise, even the best communicator may behave like a steamroller or a snivelling wreck.
Assertiveness can enhance the communication skills that lead to peak performance; aggression can give way to healthy, co-operative Teamworking; high self-esteem and high levels of achievement can replace passive behaviour.

Topics Include
This course explores situations that most people have difficulty handling, and investigates how you would respond. You'll have the opportunity to analyse your own behaviour and understand its consequences.
This course also identifies passive and aggressive behaviours and helps you recognise them in yourself and others and examines the costs of, and explanations for, these reactions.
Developing Assertiveness skills requires investment and courage. But the payoff is respect and understanding between you and your colleagues, customers and friends.
Provided with this course is an Action Plan worksheet. As you progress through the Assertiveness courses you can print off a copy and fill it in based on your own experience. The Action Plan can be accessed by clicking on the button on the right hand side of the screen.
Once selected, click the Print option on your browser or choose the Print option from the File pull down menu on your task bar.
