Description

Conflict happens. Whether it's individuals clashing, organisational change or demanding customers, conflict is a normal part of working life. But it's something that people can find hard to handle and, if you don't manage it carefully, everyone can lose out: you, the organisation and your team. This course will examine what conflict is and broadly explain how it works: the issues that cause it, the behaviours contributing to it and the feelings that result You will identify skills that are useful when conflict emerges and consider the positive and negative aspects of conflict at work

Audience

Audience: Everyone who has to deal with other people, and therefore solve conflict situations within their organisation will benefit from this course. It will help supervisors, team leaders, and managers to sharpen their conflict management skills.

Objective

This course explores situations that most people have difficulty handling, and investigates how you would respond. You'll have the opportunity to analyse your own behaviour and understand its consequences. This course also identifies passive and aggressive behaviours and helps you recognise them in yourself and others and examines the costs of, and explanations for, these reactions.
Conflict management requires commitment and effort, but the result is cooperation between you and your colleagues in an environment that fosters success.
