Unit 1: Understanding Business Ethics
- Identify four common reasons that ethical problems occur.

- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Trina Hansen a recently hired Account Executive. Being new to the company Trina is unsure of certain procedures at Icon. She believes that several of her co-workers have been taking office supplies and equipment home. She realizes that theft is wrong but is unsure of her ethical responsibility. She is tempted to report the theft but doesn't want to overstep her bounds or anger her new co-workers. It is your responsibility to help Trina better understand business ethics and you need to help Trina through the process of making ethical decisions.
Unit 2: Barriers and Consequences
- Identify common barriers in the decision making process.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to make an ethical decision in which all possible solutions violate ethical principles.
- Identify consequences when dealing with ethical problems.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will be meeting with Kevin Wright an engineer in Icon's consumer products division. Kevin is your friend and co-worker and he is meeting with you to discuss an ethical dilemma. He has discovered that several other employees in your department have started an Internet business and have been spending long periods of company time working on it. He has worked with these employees for a long time and this is a very uncomfortable situation for him. He is torn between his loyalty to his co-workers and his sense of duty at Icon. You need to explain the barriers to ethical decision-making and the consequences of dealing with ethical dilemmas.
Unit 3: Whistleblowing
- Identify risks associated with blowing the whistle.
- Demonstrate general whistleblowing guidelines.
- Identify steps to take when whistleblowing.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Dean Kramer a member of the product testing team. He has recently become aware of a problem in the Consumer Products division of Icon. He has recently discovered a copy machine with faulty wiring that could cause fires. Having been ignored by his supervisors due to his department has been grossly understaffed he feels that it has become necessary to report his documented findings to outside sources. It is your responsibility as the Manager of Engineering to advise him on his rights and responsibilities as a potential whistleblower.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
