The program covers how to control productivity by dealing with people and managing information and offers the student techniques to overcome time management challenges. The program also covers handling interruptions keeping meetings productive and organizing paperwork identifying and overcoming personal time wasters.

- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Susan Cole a Sales Manager in Icon's Telecommunications Department. In her years at Icon Susan has become very adept at minimizing unnecessary distractions and making her meetings very productive. Through Kathy's questions and your answers you will increase your understanding of ways to minimize interruptions from visitors and co-workers and you will learn some steps to making your meetings more productive.
Unit 2: Controlling Information
- Follow steps to distinguish important information from unimportant information.
- Arrange in order the steps to overcome information overload.
- Identify methods of screening information.
- Identify guidelines for how to control paperwork.
- Identify ways to handle information.
- Identify types of files that increase productivity.
- Identify items that should be filed.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Ronald Spear the Sales Manager of Icon's Telecommunications Department to discuss information overload. As Sales Manager Ronald has a very large amount of information running through his office and he has become an expert on things such as handling information overload controlling paperwork and filing. Through Ronald's series of questions and your answers you will gain a better understanding of how to control your own productivity by controlling information.
Unit 3: Overcoming Time Management Challenges
- Identify systems that help organize your office.
- Follow guidelines for communicating.
- Identify steps to follow to develop focus.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Jessica Stone a Human Resources Specialist in Icon's Telecommunications Department to discuss overcoming time management challenges. Jessica will be walking you through a series of questions designed to test your knowledge of time management techniques. Through her questions and your answers you will gain a better understanding of managing challenges through both organization and personal skills.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
