This program is for managers or supervisors who want to learn how to foster a creative environment and stimulate creativity in their employees.

- Recognize the factors that attract creative individuals to a company.

- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Susan Cole a Human Resources Advisor with Icon's Human Resource Department. Susan recently spearheaded an effort to recruit a greater number of creative employees for Icon's Marketing Department and she feels strongly about the importance of hiring such individuals. Susan also has information on how to retain good employees. Through a series of questions Susan will test your knowledge of recruiting hiring and retaining creative employees.
Unit 2: Creativity Audits and Communication
- Select the correct definition of a creativity audit.
- Identify the areas of your work environment that should be audited.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the creativity audit.
- Recognize the qualities that differentiate creative communication from other types of communication.
- Identify the four personality types that can impact creative communication.
- Recognize questions you should ask yourself to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of a creative team.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Ronald Spear a Marketing Manager in Icon's Telemarketing Division. Ronald is an excellent manager who promotes a creative team atmosphere. He has a great deal of experience with creativity audits and in communicating with creative individuals. Ronald feels strongly about encouraging creativity in all aspects of business even those that are traditionally considered as non-creative. Through a series of questions and answers you should be able to identify the steps necessary to perform a creativity audit as well as improve your communication with creative employees.
Unit 3: Supervising a Creative Environment
- Identify when creativity should be encouraged.
- Practice using challenges to encourage creativity.
- Follow the process for assigning creative tasks.
- Recognize detractors from creativity that should be avoided.
- Identify the benefit of a creative rhythm.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Kristen Andersen and Lance Helms both of whom are Account Executives in Icon's Telecommunications Division. As their District Sales Manager you will need to promote a creative team environment for your employees. Your district has seen a slight drop in sales numbers so you've called a meeting with Kristen and Lance to assign creative tasks that will encourage both employees to expand their creativity in the work setting. Lance does not see himself as a creative person but he has created a new call sales sheet and newsletter for the district. Kristen has the tendency to put creative tasks before her regular job duties. You will also need to use the creative challenge to encourage creativity with daily tasks as well as formulate a plan to deal with any creative detractors that may be affecting Kristen and Lance.

The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
