Business Etiquette: Office Protocol offers students an overview of how to build relationships and conduct themselves professionally. The program details how to create a professional appearance develop positive relationships with co-workers and practice cubicle and office etiquette. In addition the program teaches learners the appropriate use of the Internet at work as well as how to handle ethical dilemmas and personal issues.

Audience
The target audience for this series is any employee in an organization who wishes to understand business etiquette in the work environment outside of the office while attending business functions and during business travel.

Unit 1: Using Basic Office Etiquette
- Identify characteristics of business etiquette.
- Identify the guidelines for developing a professional appearance.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Janet Porter a Sales and Service Representative specializing in fax machines at Sunderson Office Supply. In the short time Janet has been employed at Sunderson her co-workers have complained about her unprofessional appearance and demeanor. While Janet has proven herself to be a highly motivated employee this issue has been distracting to her peers and disruptive of their work. Janet's manager has asked you as a Human Resources representative to visit the store and coach her in the appropriate behavior and dress for her position.
Unit 2: Building Office Relationships
- Identify the guidelines for conducting business in a cubicle.

- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Ginny Grant and Eric James employees in the call center for ''Marzine '' a gourmet specialty foods distributor owned by Icon's Consumer Products and Services Division. As an Operations Manager you've been stationed at this division to replace the former manager who was unsuccessful in maintaining order in the workplace. Your task is to set expectations for the front-line managers and their employees and to address the gossip problem the division is experiencing.
Unit 3: Conducting Yourself Professionally
- Identify the actions you can take to practice appropriate Internet use at work.
- Distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate use of the Internet.
- Identify the risks of Internet use.
- Identify situations in which you should not make loyalty your first priority.
- Identify the actions you can take to prevent personal relationships from interfering in your professional life.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Mary Aberdeen Ronald Spear and Marcus D'Angelo District Directors in the Sales area of Wellman Laboratories a pharmaceutical firm in Icon's Consumer Products and Services Division. It has come to your attention that Marcus has been using business Internet access to conduct a job search. You do not plan to confront Marcus individually at this time but instead have called this meeting to cover guidelines for appropriate use of the Internet in the workplace and to call attention to issues related to dating and flirting in the workplace.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
