Managerial Leadership: Leading Through Change discusses the three phases of planned change and the importance of planning changes before implementing them. This program highlights the types of information employees need in order to understand the need for and accept organizational changes as well as guidelines for motivating employees through a change process and a process for solving problems encountered during change. In addition this program discusses the phases of workplace grief and common sources of stress during times of organizational change.

- Simulation Overview:
- After several months of discussion Icon's Board of Directors has recently decided to discontinue the best-selling line of Majestic servers. While nothing has been made public several employees in upper management have heard rumors and are unsure of how their jobs will be affected. You will be meeting with Dean Kramer the Engineering Manager Deborah Cowan the Sales Manager and Marcus Robinson the Technical Support Manager. You will need to effectively communicate news of the change and ease their concern regarding the situation.
Unit 2: Motivating Employees Through Planned Change
- Choose guidelines you should follow when motivating employees.
- Motivate employees through a change by applying appropriate guidelines.
- Identify steps of the problem-solving process.
- Lead an employee through steps of the problem-solving process.

- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will be meeting separately with Dean Kramer Icon's Engineering Manager and Marcus Robinson the Technical Support Manager. With the introduction of a new line of servers the decision to discontinue Icon's popular Majestic line has been met with some dissatisfaction. You must meet with Dean to proactively address his concerns and effectively motivate him through the change process. In addition the performance of Marcus's workgroup has suffered because of the change and you will need to use the problem-solving process effectively to deal with the issue and help him maintain a positive attitude toward the change.
Unit 3: Coping Through a Change Process

- Identify guidelines for leading employees when mistakes occur.
- Use guidelines for dealing with mistakes.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will be meeting with Deborah Cowan Icon's Sales Manager. She has been the lead sales contact on the Majestic line of servers for several years and she is very displeased with the decision to discontinue it. Because she feels a personal loss in the situation you must help her work through the grieving process effectively. Several weeks after the initial meeting it has come to your attention that Deborah has been quoting several customers incorrect pricing packages. You must determine the cause of the problem and effectively deal with the situation.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
