Unit 1: Background Information
- List the benefits of good interviewing skills.
- Identify the goals of each of the seven types of interviews.
- List the steps in the process for preparing for an interview.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with John Cunningham one of Icon's Human Resources Assistants. Through your questions you will learn about the various types of interviews and why interviewing skills are important.
Unit 2: Creating Success Factors
- Differentiate between success factors and job requirements.
- Take the seven necessary steps when defining the job.
- Define the culture of your organization.
- Follow the five-step process for writing success factors.
- Finalize the success factors for a position.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Louis Scott one of Icon's Human Resources Assistants to discover how to create a clear picture of the ideal candidate. Through your questions and answers you will learn how to recognize success factors define a job and analyze an organization's culture.
Unit 3: Planning the Interview
- Analyze a candidate's resume successfully.
- Prepare to answer questions from a candidate.
- Ask open-ended and closed-ended questions effectively.
- Plan the agenda for an interview.
- Customize the interview to each candidate.
- Prepare your office for an interview.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will be meeting with Sue Bogner one of Icon's Human Resources Assistants to discuss questions that are considered leading. Through your questions and answers you will learn what type of questions to ask job applicants and what questions to expect from job applicants.
Unit 4: Identifying Your Interviewing Style
- List reasons why you should understand your individual personality style.
- Identify characteristics of an Intuitor.
- Identify characteristics of a Senser.
- Identify characteristics of a Thinker.
- Identify characteristics of a Feeler.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will be meeting with Carla Jackson one of Icon's Human Resources Assistants to discuss the different types of personal communication styles. You will also answer questions in order to help you better understand your individual personality style.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
