- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with John Kass the Senior Human Resources and Development Manager. You are interviewing for an HR position with Icon. Mr. Kass will ask you a series of questions and assess your knowledge of Human Resources law. If you answer his questions correctly you will be well on your way to a position at Icon.
Unit 2: Rightful Discharge
- Identify employment-at-will.
- Identify whistleblower statutes.
- Identify the steps to rightfully discharge an employee.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will be meeting with Deb Farrell. She is a Human Resources Specialist at Icon and is looking for someone who has an understanding of rightful discharge. Your job during this simulation is to prove to Deb that you have what it takes to fill this role.
Unit 3: Employee Claims
- Identify ways employers can prevent or minimize wrongful discharge claims.
- Identify alternatives to terminating an employee.
- Identify ways to ease dismissals.
- Identify termination alternatives.
- Use four steps to communicate with your company's legal department.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation you will meet with Caroline Harris. She is a Human Resources Representative at Icon but she will be leaving the company in two weeks. You have been hired to take her place. The purpose of this meeting is for Caroline to make sure that you are comfortable filling her shoes. Your goal is to answer her questions as they apply to employee claims.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
