Description
This multimedia self-paced learning course will show how Excel 95 can make everyday tasks simpler and less time consuming. The unique Skill Builder instruction uses text, voice, questioning, practice, quizzes and multiple study paths to create a learning environment that enhances your enjoyment and comprehension. Mastery tests at the end of each unit allow you to verify your understanding of key skills, and guide you back to any content that warrants further study.
Audience
This course is intended for both a new spreadsheet user or a person familiar with Excel but not this version. Participants should have taken Microsoft Windows 95 Fundamentals (Course 70011).

Objective
- Access, create and save a spreadsheet document.
- Enter and manipulate data in a workbook.
- Identify the steps to format the layout of a worksheet.
- Create a chart from worksheet information.

Unit 1 -- Working with Workbooks - Perform basic steps to create a workbook.
- Create a workbook from an existing template.
- Save, name and close a workbook.
- Find a worksheet using search criteria.
- Create a new folder from the Save As dialog box.
- Use the drag and drop method to increase editing speed.
- Insert, copy and move a worksheet into a workbook.
- Rename and delete a worksheet.
- Understand the differences between absolute, relative and mixed references.
- View multiple worksheets within the same workbook.
- Access Excel’s Help Topics and identify the use of the Contents, Index, Find and Answer Wizard tab.
Unit 2 -- Entering and Editing Data - Enter data into a worksheet and cell.
- Use AutoComplete to make data entry easier.
- Use the AutoSum Function to automatically total a series of numbers in a row or column.
- Copy and move data in a worksheet using the Edit menu.
- Delete data from a worksheet using the Edit/Clear commands.
- Select Rows, Columns, Adjacent and Non-Adjacent Rows and Columns.
- Work with ranges in a worksheet.
- Spell Check a worksheet.
- Find and replace a text string.
- Print an entire workbook, screen of a worksheet and a selected range in a worksheet.
- Create headers and footers for a worksheet before printing.
Unit 3 -- Formatting Worksheets - Insert, Delete, Hide and Unhide rows and columns in a worksheet.
- Modify the size of rows, columns and cell size in a worksheet.
- Apply bold, italic, underline, font, borders and shading enhancements to text.
- Use the Format Painter.
- Apply number, percentage, date, currency and text formatting to cell contents.
- Sort data in a worksheet by one or more columns and columns of data from left to right.
Unit 4 -- Charts - Understand and identify the different components of a chart.
- Create an embedded chart using the ChartWizard.
- Identify chart types and when to use them.
- Move and resize a chart object.
- Insert text objects into a chart.
- Change color, patterns and borders of chart objects.
- Add and remove data from a chart.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently, only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 17MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
