Audience
Anyone interested in understanding the basics of the Internet and using Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 to access Web sites. Participants should have a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows 95.

Unit 1: Internet
- Identify the basic features of the Internet and services of the Internet.
- Identify the features of the World Wide Web.
- Identify the security threats on the Internet.
Unit 2: Surfing on the Internet
- Identify the toolbars in the Internet Explorer window.
- Hide a toolbar in the Internet Explorer window.
- Customize the Web environment using Internet Explorer 3.0.
- Set the current page as your custom start page.
- Set the default Internet Explorer page as your custom start page.
- Search for Web pages.
- Save a Web page on your computer.
- Hide multimedia files to speed up the display of Web pages.
- Change the number of days to store a Web page in the history folder.
- Add a Web site to the Favorites folder.
- Move a bookmark to a different folder.
- Delete a bookmark.
- View the files contained in the Temporary Internet files folder.
- Delete all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder.
- Download files from the Internet.
- Save a Web page referenced by a link without opening it.
- Set print options for printing web pages.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
