Description

This course is the second of a two part series which will cover the skills necessary for the Expert User certification exam for Microsoft FrontPage 97. This course is intended for anyone interested in learning advanced features of Microsoft FrontPage 97. Participants should have taken the first course in this series.

  • Identify dynamic content types that FrontPage 97 supports.

Unit 2: Forms and WebBots

  • Identify the features of Independent WebBots.
  • Use the Include WebBot to include the content of a page into another one.
  • Apply the substitution WebBot to a page.
  • Identify the uses of scheduled WebBots.
  • Identify the results of applying the Table of Contents WebBot.
  • Match form fields, forms and handlers with their definition.
  • Apply a text box to a form.
  • Identify the features of option form fields.
  • Sequence the process of data transmission when a Submit button functions in a form.
  • Identify how form WebBots serve as the form handlers in a data transmission process.

Unit 5: Web Site Management

  • Identify the tasks required to manage Web site content.
  • Identify security concerns for Web site managers.
  • Add a new user to the FrontPage Server database.
  • Create a group of FrontPage 97 users.
  • Restrict access to folders in the Web site to specific team members.
  • Copy a Web site into FrontPage 97 from another location, using the Import Wizard.

Minimum Requirements

The CDROM version of this course requires:

  • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
  • At least 8MB RAM.
  • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
  • At least a double speed CDROM drive.
  • An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently, only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
  • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
  • At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
  • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
