Description

This course will teach experienced Microsoft Office users the skills and knowledge necessary to be able to take advantage of the enhanced web integration capabilities of Microsoft Office 2000. At the end of this course students will be able to create, publish, edit, share, and collaborate on web documents using Microsoft Office 2000 applications.

Audience

This course is targeted at those individuals needing to create, manage, and use Office documents within a web-intensive corporate environment. In this course, learners will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to be able to create, publish, edit, share and collaborate on web documents using the core Microsoft Office applications of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Unit 1: Creating Web Documents in Office 2000

  • Identify the Office 2000 features that enable Web page viewing and browsing.
  • Identify the features of Office 2000 that allow you to create Web pages.
  • Identify the functions of Web Folders in Office 2000.
  • Identify the functions of Office Server Extensions.
  • Add a Web folder.
  • Add hyperlinks to Office documents.
  • Apply a theme to an Office document.
  • Set HTML as the default file format in Word for new files.
  • Select an appropriate method for creating Webs or Web pages in Word.

  • Add form fields to Word documents.
  • Create a data access page in Access.

Minimum Requirements

The CDROM version of this course requires:

  • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
  • At least 8MB RAM.
  • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
  • At least a double speed CDROM drive.
  • An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently, only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
  • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
  • At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
  • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
