Description
This is the third course in a five part series that will help students prepare for the Microsoft Certified Professional exam 70-152, Designing and Implementing Web Solutions with Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0. At the completion of this course, students will learn to identify the features of Active Server Pages (ASP); create a server script and debug the server-side script; set permissions for a Web application; add a Data Source Name (DSN), a data connection and a data command to a project; and identify the advantages of using script objects.
Audience
This course series is designed for site developers who perform architectural planning, technology selection, or Web site programming tasks. This series will help students prepare for the Microsoft Certified Professional exam 70-152, Designing and Implementing Web Solutions with Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0. Participants should have completed the first two courses in the series.

Objective
- Identify the features of Active Server Pages (ASP).
- Create a server script and debug the serverside script.
- Set permissions for a Web application.

Unit 1: Active Server Pages (ASP) - Identify the features of Active Server Pages (ASP).
- Identify the features of ASP applications.
- Set up ASP services on a Web server.
- Sequence the steps involved in the process of establishing an HTTP session.
- Match the ASP processing directives with their functions.
- Match the built-in objects provided by ASP with their function.
- Create a server script by using the Script Outline window.
- Debug a server script by using the Project Explorer window.
- Add an error handler to handle the run-time errors in server scripts.
Unit 2: Implementing ASP - Match the header fields of an HTTP request message with their purposes.
- Identify the syntax of an HTTP request method line in a given scenario.
- Match the collections of the Request object with their functions.
- Write the code to extract information from the header of an HTTP Request message in a given scenario by using the QueryString collection.
- Write the code to read form data in a given scenario by using the Form collection.
- Match the header fields of an HTTP response message with their purposes.
- Identify the properties of Response object.
- Identify the methods of the Response object.
- Write the code to redirect the user to another URL by using the Redirect method of the Response object.
- Validate the user input by using the server script.

- Set the value of a cookie by using the Cookies collection of the Response object.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently, only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
