This is the first course in a five part series that introduces the learner to the context of BizTalk operations identifying the main challenges of EAI and B2B communications. BizTalk is contextualized in terms of a solution to these various challenges. This course covers the BizTalk administration model and its tools and services. It also covers the installation requirements for BizTalk and the various installation options.

Audience
The audience for this course includes System Administrators Database Administrators Application Developers System Analysts and Network Designers who operate in medium to very large computing environments that use Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. Learners should have a minimum of one year's experience designing and developing distributed applications by using Microsoft technologies. Prerequisites include experience with XML and it is recommended that learners have experience with XSLT. Working knowledge of COM+ including development tools such as Microsoft Visual Basic and Microsoft Visual C++ and a working knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) ASP and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
