This is the final course in a three part series that students will learn about ActiveX Data Objects error handling and debugging ASP applications project management in application development and data integrity and security issues.

Audience
The audience for this course includes Application Developers Webmasters and Desktop Publishers. Prerequisite skills include CIW Foundations certification or equivalent experience. Students also must pass the CIW Web Languages exam which includes the CIW Web Languages: Perl Fundamentals and CIW Web Languages: JavaScript Fundamentals courses and completed the CIW Fundamentals of CGI Using Perl courses or have a working knowledge of client-side scripting JavaScript or VBScript. In addition students should have taken the first two parts in this series (87053 and 87054). This course is mapped to the Master CIW Enterprise Developer Certification Program and will prepare students for exam 1D0-430.
Objective

- Identify ASP application development error handling and debugging ASP applications.

Unit 1: Active Server Pages
- Identify the correct sequence of events that occur when a user accesses data from a data source.
- Identify the code that uses the appropriate properties and methods of the Connection object for a specified scenario.
- Identify the code that uses the appropriate properties and methods of the RecordSet object for a specified scenario.
- Identify the code that uses the appropriate properties collection and method of the Command object for a specified scenario.
- Identify the code that uses the appropriate properties and method of the Parameter object for a specified scenario.
- Identify the code that uses the appropriate properties of the Property object for a specified scenario.
- Identify the code that uses the appropriate properties of the Field object for a specified scenario.
- Identify the code that uses the appropriate properties of the Error object for a specified scenario.
- Register a DSN by using Control Panel of Windows NT Server.
- Complete the code to create a logon page for a specified ASP application.
- Complete the code to add user details to a database by using SQL queries.
- Complete the code to retrieve records from a database by using SQL queries.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
