Description
The Computer-to-Plate for Newspapers course begins with an overview of CtP technology. This gives you a foundation for understanding the different types of hardware, lasers, and plate choices available. The benefits of CtP are discussed, including cost, speed, quality, and the new capabilities that CtP can provide. Cost issues are discussed, including criteria to take into account when calculating return on investment. A section is also dedicated to discussing important considerations in moving to a digital workflow.

Audience
This course is intended for professionals working in the newspaper industry who are making or are considering a move to computer-to-plate technology.
Prerequisites
It is assumed that students taking this course are familiar with the newspaper printing environment from either a managerial or technical perspective.
