Description

This series addresses the fundamental features of Word as defined by the Microsoft Office Specialist certification objectives for Word 2003 Specialist exam. Learners completing this series should be well prepared for the certification exam, and have a solid foundation in essential Word skills.

Audience

The target audience will range from new users to power users, although it is expected that the vast majority will have at least had some exposure to previous versions of Word. Fundamental PC and Windows skills are assumed.

Objective

Upon completion of this course, the student will learn:

  • To create a new document type from a template.
  • To modify a folder.
  • To identify options for saving different file types using the Save As dialog box.
  • To insert page numbers in a Word document.
  • To insert the date and time in a Word document.
  • To identify options for managing headers and footers.

Minimum Requirements

The CDROM version of this course requires:

  • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
  • At least 8MB RAM.
  • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
  • At least a double speed CDROM drive.
  • An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently, only the CDROM version supports audio).
The network version of this course requires:
  • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
  • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
  • At least 8MB RAM and 14MB available hard disk space or file server space.
  • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
