Students who have previously completed a nonfiction or memoir writing workshop through now have the opportunity to continue working on their nonfiction book manuscripts with help from a published author and the encouragement and feedback of their peers. When you ve completed this workshop, you will have written and received feedback on 140 pages of your book manuscript.
Throughout the workshop you ll be able to participate in asynchronous discussion with the instructor and the class in Lecture Hall, unmoderated students-only discussion in the Student Union, and group critique sessions with other workshop members in the Critics Corner.

There is no set outline for this workshop, since the focus will be on writing and critiquing. The workshop will consist of five three-week sessions. At the beginning of each session, you will submit 7,000 words (approximately 28 manuscript pages) to the instructor for review and for group critique. There will be no lectures, reading assignments or exercises for this workshop, but we ll give you plenty of tips and reminders along the way. Plus, you ll have full access to the Library and the Brain Spa for all the supplemental materials and creative exercises you want to take advantage of. Because you will be expected to submit your work at the beginning of each session, you should have your first 7,000-word submission AND a short synopsis of your book (500 to 750 words maximum) prepared prior to the class start date.
